I'm Fine Blues If you ask me how I'm doing,
I will tell you I'm fine.
It's something that I learned
from those old folks of mine.

I was brought up by people
who tried not to show
when they were broken and busted
with no place to go.

When my mama's cow was dying
and my daddy's horse was dead,
"We've had better days than this one,"
was all that they said.

When my brother's flute was stolen,
and my sister's dog went mad,
"There are better days a-coming,"
was the word from my dad.

When the winter came in August,
snow as high as my chin,
all my mama would say was,
"Summer may come again."

So now I stand before you
with my head in a sling,

thanks, Isabelle! as i said to Hanan below, i think they worked because knowing i didn't have to finish them gave me a great sense of freedom.

i should try telling myself i don't have to finish when i'm doing one that is not collaborative, perhaps, and see how it turns out. i wonder if i would listen to myself?

Sure. I haven't mailed these to Liz yet. I want a couple of them to be *lizole/*tinkwig - but I don't care which two - pick two of these, tell me which here in a reply, and I'll tell Liz to mail them to you after she works on them.

And I'll be doing more as well. I thought this day would never happen, but I have to buy more cards!

I've got a few face cards and red suit cards left - have ruined some along the way - and have gone through three decks of cards! :faint:
